Club Secretary Katie went for her Saturday long run in the Clear Creek Canyon last week, experiencing a bit of late winter weather along the way. The Crescent City Mining Camp, shown here, sits just off of Chaffee County Road 390 on the edge of the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness.
These cabins are just a few of the interesting sites to explore in the area: several 14er trails, the ghost towns of Vicksburg and Winfield, and Hope Pass — part of the famed Leadville Trail 100 course — are all accessible by most passenger vehicles. Even mid-May, though, the weather can be a challenge at 10,000 feet.
Here’s to hoping there won’t be much more snow this spring!
